Licensing

All images for sale on this site are the sole property and creative works of Forgotten Media.

Forgotten Media retains ownership of the images before, during, and after the sale. As with all stock photography and the majority of commercial photography, you are not purchasing ownership of the image; You are purchasing a license to use the image.

 

Commercial Use

Our images are intended to be used as creative assets for marketing and advertising. We license our images for royalty-free commercial use by our customers, with the following restrictions:

1. You may not claim to be the creator of the image or take credit as being the photographer who created the image.

2. You may not portray any people or models shown in the image in a way that would be deemed obscene or offensive by a reasonable person.

3. You may not re-sell or redistribute the image individually, as part of a collection, or as a component of another product or service.

4. You may not sell prints of the image.

 

Attribution

No attribution is required for commercial use. If an image is used editorially, we require the following attributions:

 

When used in PRINT and other physical publications:

• "Photo by Forgotten Media" placed in the caption area of the layout near the image.

• "Forgotten Media" listed among the publications contributing photographers.

• Photography by "Forgotten Media" in the article's byline.

When used ONLINE:

• "Photo by Forgotten Media" placed in the caption area of the layout near the image.

• "Forgotten Media" listed among the publications contributing photographers.

• Photography by "Forgotten Media" in the article's byline.

• Each instance of "Forgotten Media" must be an active hyperlink directing to "https://www.forgottenmediaphotography.com/"

 

Failure to properly attribute images used editorially will void the usage license.

 

​Editorial Use Only

You may not use a person's likeness for commercial purposes without their express permission. Images listed on this site as "Editorial Use Only" are images that may not be used for commercial advertising purposes. Editorial Use Only images contain this notice in the description window below the image.

An Editorial Use Only image MAY be used:

• In a newspaper or magazine article

• On a blog or website for descriptive purposes

• In a non-commercial presentation
 

An Editorial Use Only image MAY NOT be used:

​

• In any type of advertising or promotional material

• For any ‘advertorial’ purposes, i.e. in sections or supplements in relation to which you receive a fee from a third party advisor or sponsor

 

Copyright Violations

Forgotten Media respects the rights of creators and we go to great lengths to educate and inform our customers and clients about copyright and intellectual property rights.
